NYPD Detective Shot By Friendly Fire Is From Plainview: Report

PLAINVIEW, NY — A detective, who was shot by friendly fire on Friday in Queens, is a Plainview man, News 12 reported.

The NYPD detective was shot in the arm and leg near the Whitestone Expressway Service Road as another officer was trying to stop a carjacking, Mayor Eric Adams said.

"Thankfully, these injuries are not life-threatening. And he's expected to make a full recovery," Mayor Eric Adams said.

The New York Post identified Detective Corey Fisher, a 12-year police veteran with the Queens North Warrants Squad, as the victim.

Adams said he was undergoing surgery and was in stable condition.

According to News 12, he is a volunteer firefighter with the Bethpage Fire Department.
