Plainview Jewish Center Member Honored For Work During Pandemic
Plainview Jewish Center member Barbara Berse helped keep people connected and informed during the pandemic.

PLAINVIEW, NY — Nassau County Legislator Arnold W. Drucker honored Plainview Jewish Center member Barbara Berse on June 10 for being recognized as a Woman of Achievement by the Women's League for Conservative Judaism for her work with PJC's Sisterhood.
Throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, Berse was instrumental in the Sisterhood’s efforts to carry on its mission. She kept the Sisterhood informed and created a sense of community over Zoom at a time when such opportunities were not otherwise possible.
“During a tremendously challenging time for the Plainview Jewish Center and faith communities around the world, Barbara Berse did everything possible to keep our congregation united while we could not physically be together,” Drucker, a member of the Plainview Jewish Center’s Board of Trustees, said. “It was a pleasure to present a Nassau County Citation in recognition of her leadership and dedication to the families served by the Plainview Jewish Center."
