Nassau Homeowner Hit By Golf Club In Attempted Break-In: Cops

Police say a woman smashed windows of the home with a golf club and swung at the homeowner when he confronted her.

PLAINVIEW, NY — A Massapequa Park woman has been arrested after police said she tried to break into a Plainview home over the weekend by smashing the windows with a golf club.

Police were called to a Sunrise Street home for an attempted burglary around 4 p.m. Sunday. Taylor Johnson, 27, of Scott Street, tried to break into the home and hit the 52-year-old homeowner in the head with a golf club when he confronted her, police said.

The man suffered painful bruising and swelling and received medical treatment at the scene.

Johnson was taken into custody without incident. She faces charges of attempted burglary, assault and criminal possession of a weapon.

Johnson was expected in Hempstead court Monday.
