Plainview Resident, IDF Paratrooper Honored By Town Of Oyster Bay

PLAINVIEW, NY — A Plainview resident was recognized by the Town of Oyster Bay for his effort in Israel's war with Hamas.

Ira Kohler, a dual citizen, was serving in the Israeli Defense Forces when the terror attack took place on Oct. 7.

He was a member of a paratrooper battalion that served in the combat zone.

Since returning home, Kohler has been an advocate for the release of fellow Plainview resident and IDF soldier Omer Neutra.

A graduate of Solomon Schechter School on Long Island, Kohler was presented with a citation recently by Supervisor Joseph Saladino.
