Plainview's Regal Deli To Remain Open
After announcing the deli would be closing, longtime chef William Diaz stepped up and bought it, and will keep it open.

PLAINVIEW, NY — It seems the news of the closure of Plainview's Regal Deli may have been a bit premature.
After announcing that it would be closing its doors on Nov. 6, the Regal Deli is, in fact, staying open.
News 12 reported that William Diaz, the head chef at the deli for more than three decades, is buying the establishment from current owner Sharri Banks. Diaz has been working at the deli since he was 16.
