POB Students Honored for Outstanding Achievement
Student Recognition Night Celebrates Excellence Across Multiple Disciplines
The Plainview-Old Bethpage Central School District recently hosted its annual Student Recognition Night, celebrating the achievements of students across various academic and extracurricular disciplines. The event highlighted excellence in academics, research, business, music, mathematics, and the arts, showcasing students' hard work and dedication.
Among the honorees were National Merit Scholarship Competition semifinalists Ryan Chin, Aadi Mehta, Dylan Reimer, Amie Yang, and Jillian Zhang, along with Parshwa Shah, who was named a Special Scholarship Candidate and Coca-Cola Finalist. Jason Chen was also recognized as a Coca-Cola Semifinalist.
In research, Chloe Lee earned the prestigious title of 2025 Regeneron Science Talent Search Scholar, a testament to her innovation and scientific contributions.

The Business Department honored Long Island Moot Court Competition Semi-Finalists Kevin Liu, Evyenia Mantzoukas, Udayjot Bhullar, and Emma Leblond for their excellence in legal argumentation.
Student-artists were recognized for their achievements in visual arts and music. Several students were honored in the Plainview Fire Department Fire Prevention Poster Contest, including:

- First Place: Aarohi Gawde, Zubin Shah, Julien Tan, and Keira Xia
- Second Place: Cooper Boudin, Ayden Chen, Sophie Chong, and Andrea Wang
- Third Place: Bryant Choi, Sarah Lin, Anaira Mate, and Shreya Mate
Additionally, Zoey Zhang was named a Shanti Fund Poster & Calendar Contest Winner for her outstanding artwork.
The District also recognized exceptional students in music for their selection to the NYSSMA All-State performing ensembles this past December. The recognized student-musicians included Emily Gregori, Cheryl Oberlender, Matteo Cosenza, Daniel Karp, Kevin Liu, Morgan Shishko, Shawn Tipiere, Viktor Vasic, Euan Kim, and Lauren Kang, along with alternates Jason Artyukhov, Justin Bocian, Sophie Hu, Matthew Kaplan, Mingshen Shi, Brady Bedell, and Jacob Levenstien.
The Mathematics Department honored top scorers in the AMC 10 and AMC 12 competitions, with Nahum Yoo, Rishaan Sen, and Austin Yuu placing in the AMC 10, and Stephen Mathew, Issac Chen, and Alayna John earning top spots in the AMC 12.
The evening also featured the presentation of Career Day Inc. Awards, including the Arie A. Bucheister Memorial Scholarship, awarded to Kaia Panchal, and a Special Recognition Award, presented to Allison Gleicher.
