POBJFKHS Is a School of Distinction

Plainview-Old Bethpage John F. Kennedy High School (POBJFKHS) has been named a School of Distinction by the New York State Public High School Athletic Association (NYSPHSAA) for the 2024-2025 school year. This marks the third consecutive year POBJFKHS has earned this honor.

The School of Distinction Award recognizes schools where 100 percent of varsity teams achieve the NYSPHSAA Scholar-Athlete Team Award, which honors teams that maintain a collective GPA of 90 percent or higher during their seasons. This year, all 32 of POBJFKHS varsity teams once again met the prestigious and difficult standard, placing the school among just 114 high schools statewide and 18 in Nassau County to qualify.

“This honor reflects the culture of excellence we foster at POBJFKHS, one where academic achievement and athletic dedication are each given priority,” said Athletic Director Joseph Braico. “It is a testament to our hard-working student-athletes, as well as the teachers and coaches who have nurtured their talents throughout the school year.”
