Potentially Life Saving Cardiac Lab Opens At Plainview Hospital

PLAINVIEW, NY — Northwell Health's Plainview Hospital has opened a $19 million new cardiac laboratory, as first reported by Newsday.

The cardiac catheterization lab allows doctors to quickly heart problems with urgent procedures such as angioplasty and stenting.

The hospital expects to open an electrophysiology lab to address abnormal heart rhythms early next year, Newsday said.

This is Northwell's fifth cardiac catheterization lab. Catholic Systems has five across its system, including Mercy Hospital in Rockville Centre.
