Tears, Hugs At Funeral For Slain Plainview Father: Report
Mourners gathered Monday for the funeral of Justin Gottlieb, who was gunned down last week in a targeted attack.

HICKSVILLE, NY — Days after Justin Gottlieb was gunned down while sitting in an SUV outside a home in Plainview, mourners gathered in Hicksville to lay him to rest. A funeral was held Monday for the 27-year-old at Our Lady of Mercy Church in Hicksville, News 12 Long Island reported.
Tearful gatherers embraced each other as they said their final goodbyes.
Police have not yet made any arrests in the case, the circumstances of which remain a mystery. On Thursday, police released new details in hopes that the public could help find his killer.

Gottlieb left his work in Jericho around 5 p.m. Tuesday and drove home in a red 2002 Ford Explorer with a license plate of EBJ 2643.
At some point, he was followed to Margaret Drive East by a light-colored, four-door sedan that police said could be white. Someone in that vehicle then opened fire on Gottlieb around 5:30 p.m., police said. Gottlieb died at a hospital.

"We are inquiring anybody that were on the roads that day, if they saw this Explorer interacting with a white, four-door sedan, whether it looked like a road rage or some kind of argument — or anything that looked out of the ordinary, we're asking for the public's help," Nassau police detective Lt. Stephen Fitzpatrick, commanding officer of the homicide unit, told reporters Thursday.
The community has rallied around Gottlieb, raising more than $111,000 for his family within the span of a week. All donations would go directly to Gottlieb's fiancée and 1-year-old daughter to help ease the unexpected financial burden, the post said.
As Patch previously reported, tributes also poured in for Gottlieb, who attended Plainview- Old Bethpage John F. Kennedy High School and later graduated from SUNY Farmingdale in 2014.
Relatives remembered Gottlieb as "wonderful young man" who had his whole life ahead of him.
