Woman Arrested After Stealing From Elderly Patients In Care Home: PD

A Hempstead woman was arrested on multiple charges after stealing from her patients at The Bristol Assisted Living at Bethpage, police say.

BETHPAGE, NY — A Hempstead woman was arrested for multiple grand larcenies in Bethpage, according to Nassau police.

Police said Kumarie Nazir, 55, was employed as a nurse's aid for The Bristol Assisted Living at Bethpage where she stole multiple pieces of jewelry from patients she was assigned to care for on Oct. 8, 20, 21, and 23.

Nazir was arrested on Dec. 28 and charged with three counts of third-degree grand larceny, one count of fourth-degree grand larceny, and four counts of first-degree endangering the welfare of an incompetent physically disabled person, police said.

She was arraigned on Dec. 28 at First District Court in Hempstead.
