2-Car Accident In Front Of HS Traps 2 In Vehicle & 2 Minors Underneath
Rescuers worked to free a trapped victim, stabilizing the vehicle, and using hurst spreaders and a TL-9 stabilizer, fire officials said.

PORT CHESTER, NY — What is being described as a serious motor vehicle crash had rescue crews racing to free a young person trapped under a car.
Shortly after noon on Wednesday, the Port Chester and Rye Brook Fire Departments, along with a mutual aid Rescue Company from the Purchase Fire Department, were dispatched to Port Chester High School, after a report of a motor vehicle accident with an extrication required.
The chiefs who first arrived on the scene found a two-car motor vehicle accident at the corner of Neuton Ave. and Hilcrest Ave., next to the auditorium entrance to Port Chester High School. Two people were still inside the vehicle with two minors stuck under the vehicle.

One of the minors under the car, along with the two inside the vehicle, were eventually able to free themselves, while the other minor remained trapped underneath the vehicle.
Units from Rescue 41, Engine 14 and Rescue 30 worked on freeing the trapped minor, stabilizing the vehicle, and using hurst spreaders and a TL-9 stabilizer.

They lifted the vehicle, freeing the victim, who was then placed in the care of Port Chester/Rye/ Rye Brook EMS and rushed to the hospital for further evaluation.
The Port Chester Fire Department thanked their members, mutual aid partners, EMS, and police departments for their rapid response and great work.
