HUDSON VALLEY, NY — 'Tis the season for giving back to your community. There are a number of ways that you and your family can help others through the holidays.

Every day through Christmas, Patch will be highlighting a way you can provide compassion and resources to those in need.

Today’s opportunity is Clothing Drive for Children and Teens for the Sharing Shelf. The organization was founded to combat clothing insecurity and meet basic material needs among low-income children and families in the community. The drive collects new and gently used clothing for infants, children and teens, which is then sorted by quality, size, season and gender before it is distributed. Volunteers are asked to donate gently used items for children and teens sizes 4T through Youth XL (14-16). Organizers say this is a great opportunity to clean out the closet while doing some good.
