Challenging High Angle Rescue Of Injured Worker Trapped On Scaffolding

First responders worked together to stabilize and place the immobilized patient onto a stokes basket, then onto the bucket of a fire truck.

PORT CHESTER, NY — Countless hours of training by first responders paid off for a worker who found himself in an unexpected predicament.

On Friday afternoon, around 4 p.m., the Port Chester Fire Department received a report of an injured worked on Broad Street, who was trapped on scaffolding.

PCFD units and Port Chester EMS found the injured worker on the second floor of the scaffolding.

Members of Tower Ladder 2 and Rescue 40 worked together with EMS to stabilize and place the now immobilized patient onto a stokes basket, then onto the bucket of TL-2, and down onto the ground safely.

The patient was taken to an area hospital within 30 minutes of the emergency call.
