Clay Art Annual 'Rising Stars' Exhibit Is A Glimpse Of The Future
The Clay Art Center in Port Chester hosts some of the most esteemed artists around the globe, but this installation will celebrate students.

PORT CHESTER, NY — We are lucky to have one of the most highly regarded ceramic arts center in the world right here. The draw of talent to the Hudson Valley can't be overestimated, but often overlooked is the remarkable way the Clay Art Center cultivates a passion for the medium that has lifted the pursuit to a shared obsession among neighbors.
An upcoming installation featuring work from Clay Art Center adult, youth and community arts programs celebrates the accessibility and simples joy of the art form.
Clay Art Center's annual "Rising Stars" exhibition is a celebration of the accomplishments of those adult, youth, and community arts students. Organizers say the exhibition serves as a platform for artists at various stages of their clay journey to showcase their talent and growth.

Each year, the exhibition brings together a diverse group of artists, contributing their unique perspective and creative voice.
"This exhibition provides a meaningful opportunity to recognize and acknowledge the technical skills, creativity, and progress of our adult learners, in addition to highlighting the importance of our youth and Community Arts Programs, which play a vital role in fulfilling our mission," Clay Art Center leaders said. "By uniting artists from different programs and levels, Rising Stars demonstrates the inclusivity and supportive nature of our artistic community."

The annual tradition is viewed as showcasing the achievements of students, but Rising Stars also presents the works of immensely talented faculty and teachers.
The show also features works from younger students, who will prove that our growing passion for ceramic arts will live on for generations to come.
A family-friendly opening reception will be held on Saturday, January 20, from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. The installation will run from Jan. 16 to Feb 12.
