Join A Classic Film Club Without Ever Leaving The Comfort Of Home
The Port Chester-Rye Brook Public Library group will discuss "Invasion of the Body Snatchers" virtually after an at home "watch party."
PORT CHESTER, NY — If you're a cinephile who prefers your home theater systems, but would still like to connect with fellow film lovers to unpack favorite classic movies, the library has the perfect film club for you — but you might want to keep a friend nearby in case you need a hand to hold.
The Port Chester-Rye Brook Public Library announced that the library's Classic Film Club will be meeting on September 12, at 7 p.m.
The film chosen for the virtual session via Zoom is Invasion of the Body Snatchers (1956), directed by Don Siegel.

In the movie, the character Dr. Miles Bennell returns to his small town practice to find several of his patients suffering the paranoid delusion that their friends or relatives are impostors. He is initially skeptical, especially when the alleged doppelgangers are able to answer detailed questions about their victim's lives, but he is eventually persuaded that something odd has happened and determines to find out what is causing this phenomenon.
Participants are asked to please watch the film on their own before the session. A limited number of copies will be available at the library starting August 21. The film is also available for streaming on AMAZON PRIME and ARCHIVE.ORG.
