Maria Gaby Arduz, who loved to be called “Lala” by her grandkids, went to be with the Lord on Thursday, August 19th, 2021.

Maria was born in Bolivia on February 28, 1941 to the late Ricardo Arduz and Luzmila Balcazar.
Maria was mother to Ricardo and Carlos Alberto Oyola and Ursula Arduz. She raised her three children with so much love and devotion in Bolivia and Port Chester, New York.

Maria’s hobbies included cooking, sewing, going for walks, but most of all, spending time with her loved ones. She was most known for always putting others first and giving unconditional love to her family. After Maria retired from working as a housekeeper for 30 years, she dedicated her life to helping her daughter, Ursula and son-in-law, Henry Melon, raise her two grandsons, Matthew and Alexander Melon.
She is survived by her sisters Blanca, Hilka, and Marlen Tellez, brothers Orlando and Edgar Tellez, sons Ricardo and Carlos Alberto Oyola and daughter and son-in-law, Ursula and Henry Melon, grandchildren Claudia Andrea Oyola and Matthew and Alexander Melon.
Visitation will be at R.G. Ortiz Funeral Home in Port Chester on Tuesday, August 24th from 5:00 – 8:00 p.m. A mass will be held on Wednesday, August 25th at 10:00 a.m. at Corpus Christi Church in Port Chester.
A mask is required for both services.
