Police Seeking Witnesses After Elderly Pedestrian Struck By Car

Port Chester police said the accident victim, who has not yet been identified, suffered "very serious injuries."

PORT CHESTER, NY — Police are appealing for help identifying the elderly man who was hit by a car last night.

On Wednesday, at about 7 p.m., a pedestrian was struck by a motor vehicle while crossing Locust Ave., near Edison School in Port Chester. He suffered very serious injuries, according to Port Chester police who are investigating.

PCPD is asking for any information to help identify the pedestrian. The victim is described as a man who is approximately 70 years old. He had no identification on him.

Investigators said the man was crossing the street mid-block when he was struck by the vehicle. The driver is cooperating with the investigation, according to cops.

"The Westchester County PD Accident reconstruction team responded and assisted in our investigation, we thank them for their assistance," Port Chester police said in a statement released on social media on Thursday morning. "We would also like to thank the area residents who were forthcoming in providing video of the incident."
