Port Chester-Rye Brook Library Hosts Free Immigration Legal Clinic
Westchester-based U.S. Pathway will offer help with asylum, refugee, victim of domestic violence, and DACA status.

PORT CHESTER, NY — A unique initiative with deep Westchester roots, will hold a free legal clinic at the Port Chester-Rye Brook Public Library next month.
The U.S. Pathway project was created thanks in part to the Kathryn W. Davis Global Community Scholarship and students at Westchester Community College. The students identified a need for legal and financial assistance as students balanced the pursuit of educational, professional and personal dreams in the U.S. with the sometimes confusing and challenging aspects of the naturalization process.
The members of U.S. Pathway, Roxana, Laura, Christopher, and Leticia, said they share a belief that "getting access to education is the first step in the process of growing." After knocking on some doors, the group said they found communities and organizations with the same goals and beliefs, including the Community Resource Center of Mamaroneck, Neighbors' Link, Empire Justice, NYCLA, Laswest, Make the road, and my sister's place.

Attendees will be able to ask about several topics, including DACA (Deferred Action for Childhood Arrivals), citizenship, adjustment of status, asylum, refugees and victims of domestic violence, in a confidential setting. Those with questions about their or a loved one's status will be paired with experienced legal professionals who specialize in immigration and related matters.
U.S. Pathway is a not-for-profit that helps individuals navigate the complexities of immigration law and provides clarity on immigration-related topics.
