“With a challenging economy and high inflation rate, food insecurity has skyrocketed in Westchester County so our club will continue to do our part to ensure individuals and families have food and necessities for the Thanksgiving holiday,” states Lauren Torres, President of the Rotary Club of Rye. Last year, the club collected and distributed more than 1,000 pounds of food and 1,400 diapers to non-profits who provide assistance over the holidays. “Rotary International’s motto is service above self and the Rotary Club of Rye is dedicated to helping others year-round,” Torres added.

This year marks the 61st year since the club was founded in Rye. With support from the community, the Rotary Club of Rye hopes to continue its longstanding tradition of service. The club and its associated Rye Rotary Foundation has funded more than a hundred thousand dollars in scholarships for Rye High School students over the years. They also provide funding for both hyper local projects here in Rye and international projects such as funding to build and maintain clean water wells in rural areas of Africa.
