Snow Totals And Weekend Forecast For The Hudson Valley

The storm dumped more on NYC, Long Island and Connecticut. Next, watch out for icy conditions Sunday.

HUDSON VALLEY, NY — The overnight snowstorm was indeed a coastal storm, and most of the snow it dumped while passing through was to the south and west of us, according to the National Weather Service's latest snowfall report.

In New York City, Central Park received 5.5 inches, while La Guardia received 8.4. The highest total reported on Long Island was from Syosset — 8.3 inches.

But in the Hudson Valley, not so much. In fact, only three snowfall reports came in by 8:05 a.m.:

  • Orange County, a mile west-northwest of Monroe: 3.0 inches as of 6:30 a.m.
  • From Westchester County: 4.8 inches in Armonk as of 6:15 p.m. and 7.8 inches in Port Chester as of 7:25 a.m.

On its way northeast through New England, the storm dumped on western Connecticut, with New Canaan reporting 8.6 and Bridgeport 8.2 inches.

Then some seriously cold weather is on its way. Based on White Plains:

  • Friday - Partly sunny, with a high near 32. Wind chill values between 15 and 20. Northwest wind 14 to 17 mph, with gusts as high as 29 mph.
  • Tonight - Mostly clear, with a low around 14. Wind chill values between zero and 10. Northwest wind 13 to 15 mph, with gusts as high as 25 mph.
  • Saturday - Sunny, with a high near 33. Wind chill values between zero and 10. Northwest wind 5 to 11 mph becoming southwest in the afternoon.
  • Saturday Night - Mostly clear, with a low around 24. Southwest wind 5 to 7 mph.
  • Sunday - A slight chance of snow showers before 10am, then rain showers likely. Mostly cloudy, with a high near 37. Southwest wind 8 to 10 mph, with gusts as high as 22 mph. Chance of precipitation is 60%. Little or no snow accumulation expected.
  • Sunday Night - A chance of rain showers, mixing with snow after 8pm, then gradually ending. Mostly cloudy, with a low around 25. Chance of precipitation is 50%.
  • Monday - Mostly sunny, with a high near 31.
  • Monday Night - Mostly clear, with a low around 14.
  • Tuesday - Sunny and cold, with a high near 20.
  • Tuesday Night - Partly cloudy, with a low around 12.
