PORT CHESTER, NY — Village officials are taking steps to help the community keep its cool and stay charged up as the mercury makes things uncomfortable out there.

As dangerously high temperatures are predicted to build over the course of the weekend, the Port Chester Senior Center will remain available to the public for use as a cooling and charging center, according to village officials.

According to the National Weather Service, oppressive heat and humidity will build in the area through Saturday. Heat advisories are in effect for Thursday.
