5 People Injured After Car Overturns In Islip Crash: Police

The crash occurred on Sunrise Highway, police say.

ISLIP, NY — Five people were injured in a three-vehicle crash on Saturday, which caused a car to overturn in Islip, Suffolk County Police said.

At about 4:30 p.m., a 2019 Dodge Curango rear-ended a 2023 Jeep Wrangler going westbound on Sunrise Highway. The impact caused the Jeep to overturn, police said.

The Jeep occupants, two females and a male, were taken to Good Samaritan University Hospital in West Islip with non-life-threatening injuries, police said.

The driver of the Dodge and their passenger were taken to South Shore University Hospital in Bay Shore for treatment of minor injuries.

A third vehicle, a 2013 Toyota sedan, was also involved and received minor damage. The driver of the Toyota, a male, was uninjured, police said.
