Albany Man Pleads Guilty In Ex-Girlfriend's 2021 Coram Slay: Report

It came as prosecutors planned to play footage of him confessing to stabbing Meghan Kiefer "mad times,' Newsday reported.

RIVERSIDE, NY — In an unexpected twist of events, an Albany man standing trial in connection with the slaying of his ex-girlfriend two years ago outside her grandmother's home in Coram, pleaded guilty to second-degree murder in a Riverside courtroom on Monday, Newsday reported.

Kason Parker, 35, changed his plea as Suffolk prosecutors planned to play footage from a dashboard camera showing him confessing to the killing, saying he stabbed 27-year-old Meghan Kiefer "mad times," the outlet reported.

His attorney, Joseph Hansche of Sayville, told the outlet that he and his legal team were encouraging Parker's plea, "with the evidence that we looked at, however, it's his decision."

She was taken to Stony Brook University Hospital where she was pronounced dead, according to police.

Parker was arrested days later.

Kiefer worked at Tailgaters Sports Bar in Holbrook.

After her death, colleagues wrote a post on the bar's Facebook page saying that they were "sad-hearted to say" that "she passed away."

"She will always be loved, and a part of our hearts, and be one of the team," the post read.

"Rest easy, beautiful girl," the post concluded.
