- Santa was back in town this weekend, and 'Greater Port Jeff' was there to capture him.
Photographer Andrew Theodorakis was on the scene Sunday morning for Port Jefferson’s annual Christmas Parade. Click on the link to see some awesome photos. (Greater Long Island) - The 'Final Five' has been announced, and on Wednesday, Dec. 1, these talented young musicians will all be vying for $5,000 in grand prize money in the third annual Lillian and Maurice Barbash J.S Bach Competition. The finals will be held live at Stony Brook University’s Staller Center Recital Hall and will be streamed live at The Violin Channel. Admission is free of charge. (GLINews)
- Members of the Port Jefferson School District music department are slated to entertain spectators with seasonal music during various performances at the Charles Dickens Festival in Port Jefferson Village on Dec. 4 and 5. Musical ensembles from all three schools will perform holiday favorites at various venues in the village. The unique opportunity highlights the district’s Music and Fine Arts Department’s mission to foster the tools of imaginative self-expression and meaningful social interaction. - The Port Jefferson School District boys cross-country team recently competed against the top teams of all 11 sections in the state in the New York State Public High School Athletic Association championships. The team battled the rain and cold to finish 7th of all class D schools in New York State. (Port Jeff School District)
