  1. Get ready for Port Jefferson Village Harvest Festival: Mark your calendars, the Port Jefferson Harvest Fest is set for later this month. The Port Jefferson Economic Development Council is hosting the popular fall event on Oct. 23 from noon to 5 p.m., featuring several fun events for people of all ages. Attendees can expect live music throughout the village, a professional woodcarving demonstration, arts and crafts, and a Halloween dog costume parade. (Greater Long Island)

Port Jefferson Station man charged with DWI: A Port Jefferson Station man was charged with driving while intoxicated after Suffolk police said his car struck and killed a pedestrian Tuesday night in Coram. Jason Hank, 24, was driving a 2009 Toyota Corolla north on Route 112, about 1,000 feet south of Pine Rd, about 9:35 p.m. when he hit a man in the road, police said. The victim, who was identified Wednesday night as Glenn Ohlinger, 66, of Coram, was pronounced dead at the scene, authorities said. (Newsday)

Stolen Credit Cards In Port Jefferson Station: Suffolk County police are seeking the public's help in identifying and locating a woman they say used stolen credit cards to make purchases in Port Jefferson Station back in June. Police said the woman used the stolen cards to make purchases at multiple gas stations and convenience stores in Port Jefferson Station on June 12. The cards had been stolen from a wallet that was left in a shopping cart at Shop Rite in Port Jeff Station earlier that day, according to police. (Port Jefferson Patch)
