Kylie Melzer Honored As October's Most Motivated Student Of The Month

Kylie Melzer receives recognition from Port Jefferson School District for her excellent scholarly and social attributes.

At its Nov. 5 luncheon, the Port Jefferson Rotary Club honored middle school sixth-grader Kylie Melzer as October’s Most Motivated Student of the Month.

According to the district, it presents these awards based on a list of criteria including academics, personality, and overall achievement. Kylie's family including her mother and her and middle school math teacher Meg Ryan were all on hand to congratulate her on being named the most motivated student of the month. 

According to the district website, "During her address to the club, Ryan expounded on the excellent scholarly and social attributes that made Kylie an outstanding candidate for nomination." 

The district also confirmed that both Melzer's middle school Principal and fellow Rotarian Antonio Santana attended the ceremony.
