PORT JEFFERSON, NY — A Long Island contractor is donating a new roof to Hope House Ministries on Friday, officials announced in a news release.

Jeff Brett, chief executive officer of the Bohemia-based King Quality Roofing and Siding, decided to make the donation after learning the ministry's Emmaus House on Stonyhill Road in Port Jefferson needed a new roof due to a leak.

GAF and ABC Supply Company are providing the roofing materials needed to complete the project.

The ministry, which was founded by Father Francis Pizzarelli in 1980, helps families in crisis, expectant mothers, and people suffering from addiction. It provides residential, counseling, and educational services.

Brett said that he wanted to give back to the ministry that has done so much meaningful work in the community.

“For over 44 years, Hope House has been a beacon of hope, saving lives and offering compassionate care to the most vulnerable among us,” Brett said. “This roof donation is just a small way for King Quality to help out and express our gratitude to Father Frank and the entire Hope House team for the life-changing work they do.”

Pizzarelli, who knows Brett since he was a teen, noted that he has also given back to the various programs "in our larger community," calling it "truly extraordinary."

"He gives me hope that the world can be a better place because of young men like him," he added.

King Quality also donated and installed a roof at Hope House’s Matt’s House in Port Jefferson last year.
