Local Hero: Port Jefferson Contractor Gives Back To Community

PORT JEFFERSON, NY — When times are tough, heroes emerge. We all know someone who's making a difference right now as we live through unprecedented and changing times.

Here at Patch, we've launched an initiative to help recognize these heroes making a difference in their communities. We’re working to let all your neighbors know about these outstanding people and their stories.

What does the local hero do?

Jeff Brett is the Chief Executive Officer of the largest contracting company in the northeast, King Quality.

Why do you believe the local hero should be recognized or honored?:

While being the CEO of King Quality, Jeff is so much more than that.

He has built his brand on literally and figurately putting a roof over people’s heads. Jeff has donated roofs to long Islanders in need and local religious institutions like Hope House Ministries, as well as Habitat for Humanity of Long Island, and local soccer teams who needed a secure place for their equipment. The list goes on and on.

Every year without fail, Jeff and his team purchase and then give out full Thanksgiving dinners — enough to feed 150 families — at the Lighthouse Mission in Bellport. And finally, Jeff has donated thousands of dollars to Mather hospital in Port Jefferson over the past few years. The best part about Jeff is that he has made giving and philanthropy a cornerstone of his business and has made it his mission to continue to give back to local communities. The more King Quality grows, the more he’s determined to give back.

What's one thing you want everyone to know about the local hero?

Jeff is real. His philanthropic endeavors mean so much more to him than anything he’s accomplished on the business side. His goal is to continue to grow his give-back program into something more formalized in the very near future so stay tuned.
