Mayor Margot Garant has told Patch that a water main has broken by Crystal Brook Hollow Road and Winston Drive in Port Jefferson village. She said that Suffolk County Water Authority is on scene shutting the water down and some Port Jefferson village residents have lost water. Garant is encouraging people to reach out to residents already hard hit by Hurricane Sandy to offer help. "Please if you know of anyone who lives up by the country club, connect with them to see if they need electric, heat and shelter," she said. We will update this story as more information becomes available.
