  1. September is still sizzling in Port Jefferson! The Mustang & Shelby Club of Long Island is hosting its 14th annual show on the ground of Harborfront Park on Sunday, Sept. 25, from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. (Port Jefferson Village Center)
  2. A public hearing will be held at the Brookhaven Town Hall on Thursday, Sept. 29, at 5 p.m. Residents will be able to discuss the new redistricting proposal that has been dividing opinions. (TBR News Media)
  3. Staller Center has released its fall schedule with three big names in the acting world coming to Stony Brook. Among them are the prestigious Peking Acrobats from the Shanghai Circus, entertaining audiences worldwide for 30 years. The group will take on the center's stage on Friday, Oct. 7, at 7 p.m. Tickets can be purchased here. (Greater Long Island)
  4. Port Jefferson Middle School Principal Brian Walker is honoring students weekly who are caught helping others. The new Character Coupons program encourages acts of respect, honesty and responsibility in the school community. (Press Release Desk)
  5. Police sought a suspect who stole a speaker device from Walmart on Nesconset Highway. According to the police, the man broke the display locker and stole a Bose SoundLink speaker. A cash reward is offered for information that leads to an arrest by calling 1-800-220-TIPS. (Daily Voice)

  • "Suffolk police detectives are looking for a man they say tried to split with some cash from a Coram bank on Tuesday afternoon. Police said a man entered M & T Bank on Route 112, just before 5 p.m., and handed a teller a note demanding cash. The teller refused and the robber bolted." (Patch)
  • Port Jefferson EMS: "On Saturday, the PJEMS dragon boat team “Paddle Medics” participated in the annual Port Jefferson Dragon Boat Race Festival! The Paddle Medics had several races throughout the day, and their final race was a 1st place finish!" (Port Jefferson EMS via Instagram)
