New York City Man Caught Selling Unstamped Cigarettes At Long Island Store: Cops
Cops say they seized more than 50 cartons of unstamped cigarettes, a large quantity of cannabis products, and a stun gun.
CORAM, NY — A New York City man was caught selling unstamped cigarettes at a convenience store in Coram on Thursday, Suffolk police said.
The arrest took place during a probe by the 6th Precinct's Crime Section officers, along with the county's health department, and investigators from the building inspector and fire marshal from the Town of Brookhaven, into the sale of flavored e-liquid nicotine and unstamped cigarettes at Sky High Convenience Smoke Shop on Middle Country Road at around 3:30 p.m., according to police.
The investigation was in response to numerous community complaints, police said.

A large quantity of flavored vape products, which were in public view were seized as evidence, police said, adding that they also seized more than 50 cartons of unstamped cigarettes, a large quantity of cannabis products, and a stun gun.
Brookhaven's building inspector condemned the store due to it being an unlawful structure and the location is closed pending repairs.

The 37-year-old Brooklyn man was charged with possession or selling unstamped cigarettes, a violation of the state Tax Law, which is a misdemeanor. He was given a Field Appearance Ticket and is scheduled to be arraigned at First District Court in Central Islip at a later date.
