On the Agenda: Public Safety, Noise Code, Country Club Bond

Agenda released for Monday's Port Jefferson Village Board meeting.

At tonight’s Port Jefferson Village Board meeting, locals will have a chance to weigh in on public safety matters in the village, as well as a noise code amendment proposed by village leaders.

Specific time for the public to address public safety issues will precede the public forum for general comments, while a public hearing on the code change will take place to kick off the meeting.

Also on the agenda is the approval to issue serial bonds for the improvement of the PJCC Golf Course, including the design, construction and engineering of an irrigation system upgrade. Including improvements to bunkers, greens and tees, the estimated maximum cost for members of the country club is at $2 million.
Numerous beach hires, as well as $17,000 in lighting along the Harborwalk, may also be approved Monday night.

Another action item is the approval of the name change from Caroline Ave. Ball Field to the “Joe Earland Ball Field” and the renaming of Harborfront Park to “Mayor Jeanne Garant Park”.

Monday's meeting begins at 7 p.m. at village hall.
