Pedestrian Killed In Crash In Suffolk: Police

A man was walking in the road when he was struck by a car, police say.

CORAM, NY — A man was killed when he was hit by a car in Coram on Monday night, Suffolk police said.

Evan Espinosa, 31, of Medford, was walking in the roadway of Middle Country Road, near Martin Street, when he was struck by an eastbound 2011 Cadillac SRX4, at 10:07 p.m., police said.

Espinosa was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Cadillac driver, a 38-year-old Port Jefferson Station man, was not injured and remained at the scene, police said. His car was impounded for a safety check.

Detectives asked anyone with information on the crash to call the Sixth Squad at 631-854-8652.
