1. For those registering to vote online, via mail or in person, the deadline is Friday, Oct. 14. Ballots can be requested by mail until Monday, Oct. 24. Early voting starts on Oct. 29, to Nov. 6. To register online, visit: New York online voter registration. (LI News 12)
2. The new Route 112 Brightview Senior Living is hosting a professional networking event on
   Thursday, Sept. 29, from 4:30 to 6:30 p.m. at the WaterView at 44 Fairway Drive in Port Jefferson. (Port Jefferson CofC)
3. We are just five days away from the Sea Shanty Maritime Music Festival. On Saturday, Oct. 1, the music will be loud at Port Jefferson Harborfront Park from noon until 6 p.m. (Port Jefferson CofC)
4. Nearby News: Coram Fire Department is holding a car wash fundraiser to help the Bjorndahl Foundation for Traumatic Brain Injury. Cars will be washed for $10 on Oct. 1, from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m. At 303 Middle Country Rd, Coram. (Patch)
