- The Three Village Electric Parade Committee is lighting up the holidays with the annual Three Village Electric Parade. The Electric Parade is “ON”. This year the holiday floats will light up main street. Come see a spectacular display of dazzling lights, holiday themes, and of course, Santa! Families, schools, clubs, teams, businesses, and organizations are all welcome to make this year the best year yet! - Over its 20 years in existence, Jefferson’s Ferry has been home to a significant number of accomplished and creative older adults who have been groundbreakers, innovators, educators and artists. All were original thinkers with a desire to do something that hadn’t been done before, and many of these residents wrote books about their work, which can be found in the Jefferson’s Ferry library collection. (TBRNews)
- Port Jefferson may be cold, but it’s already getting ready for spring. “The Port Jeff chamber, with the support of a grant for beautification from PSEG for $2,000, was able to purchase 5,000 Dutch Master daffodil bulbs,” said Barbara Ransome, director of operations of Port Jefferson Chamber of Commerce. The grant she mentioned comes from PSEG Long Island as part of the company’s Main Street Revitalization Program that has been helping small businesses during these tough pandemic times. Funds for the Plant Port Yellow program came from a new concept that was introduced by PSEGLI earlier this year. (TBRNews)
- Plans for a third track along a portion of the Long Island Rail Road are being derailed in Garden City. The Metropolitan Transportation Authority says it could miss its targeted December 2022 completion date of the third track project because the village has yet to issue permits needed for it. (News12)
