- Sunrise Senior Living, located at 1 Sunrise Drive, East Setauket, will host a Meet and Greet Barbecue for the community. The event is free of charge and will be held on May 11 from noon to 5 p.m. (Port Jefferson CofC)
- A man was charged for stabbing another male on Sunday morning in Port Jefferson. The incident happened on Main Street, near Arden Place. The two men started a fight when one stabbed the other. The victim was taken to Stony Brook Hospital, and police arrested and charged Nicholas Thornton of St. James. (Patch)
- Nearby News: A group of protesters gathered in front of the Tikki's bar in Patchogue to protest against the bar's advertisement for the Cinco de Mayo events. The Latino community claims the flyer was racist and wanted to boycott the event. Owner Michael Bruemmer said the ad was humorous and did not intend to offend any group. (News12)
- Port Jefferson Free Library invites all moms in the community who wants to connect to join this 6-week course about feminine leadership. The first meeting is scheduled for May 2 at 7 p.m. (PJFL)
