Port Jefferson Man Caught With Multiple 3D-Printed Parts In His Home: Police
They were found when he was being investigated for a previous case of menacing, Suffolk police say.

PORT JEFFERSON, NY — A Port Jefferson man was caught with multiple 3D-printed gun parts in his home on Friday, Suffolk police said.
Officers from the Investigative Unit of the 6th Precinct in Selden were at the home of Tyler Schmalenberger, investigating him for a previous menacing during which he pointed what appeared to be a handgun at an acquaintance, according to police.
Multiple 3D-printed firearm receivers and 3D-printed parts, including a complete parts kit, two 3D-printed long gun receivers, a magazine, a Glock-style spring kit, and AR components were found during the search, police said.

Schmalenberger, 30, was charged with second-degree menacing and fourth-degree criminal possession of a weapon, and scheduled for arraignment at a later date, according to police.
