Earl L. Vandermeulen High School rising senior Kyra Sommerstad recently qualified for the Olympic trials in the 100-yard backstroke with a time of 1:02.66, making the cut by .03 seconds. The trials will take place in Omaha, Nebraska in June 2020. Kyra has her sights set on the 200-yard backstroke and 200 Individual Medley.
