Port Jefferson School District Welcomes Interim Assistant Principal
Christopher Scardino will serve as the interim assistant principal at Edna Louise Spear Elementary School for the 2022-23 school year.

The Port Jefferson School District Board of Education has assigned Christopher Scardino to serve as the interim assistant principal at Edna Louise Spear Elementary School for the 2022-23 school year.

Scardino retired as the Fork Lane Elementary School principal for the Hicksville School District in 2020, where he served for 16 years. Prior to that role, Scardino served as an assistant principal in the Babylon School District from 1999 until 2004, and began his teaching career serving students in grades 2-6 in the Wyandanch School District. He has an extensive background in school budgeting, scheduling, staffing, observations and evaluations. He is also well-versed in safety training, parent/staff presentations, analyzing data to inform instruction, community events, leading committees/school teams, character education initiatives and staff development workshops.
Scardino holds school district administrator in educational administration certification from Stony Brook University; a Master of Science and Technology from the New York Institute of Technology and a Bachelor of Science in elementary education from LIU Post.
