Port Jefferson Senior Takes On State Swim Competition

Earl L. Vandermeulen High School senior Olivia Schlegel finished 12th in the 200 Individual Medley and 13th in the 100 Backstroke at the New York State Public High School Athletic Association’s girls swimming championships in Webster on Nov. 19 and 20. This was Olivia’s fourth time competing at the state championships.

“I am so proud of Olivia,” Athletic Director Adam Sherrard said. “She always performs well in big events and has been one of the top swimmers in the state over the last four years.”
