Port Jefferson Students Perform at NYSSMA Majors Festival

Music students from Port Jefferson Middle School’s 6-8 grade orchestras and the chamber ensemble performed at the New York State School Music Association’s Major Organization Festival held recently at Sachem East High School.

Conducted by music teachers Christian Neubert and Dr. Vanessa Salzman, each ensemble performed several pieces for a panel of adjudicators, who evaluated them on their quality of performance and level of musicianship.

“These students continue to bring pride to our school district and music program,” Dr. Salzman said. “We commend their excellence in musical performance.”
