Eighth grader earns award from Johns Hopkins for being among the most intelligent students.

Lucas Rohman, a Port Jefferson Middle School eighth grader, was named one of the brightest middle school students in the world by the Johns Hopkins Center for Talented Youth.
Rohman was honored based on his exceptional performance as a middle school student on the college SAT and ACT. He is one of 1,175 students who were recognized from the 30,648 who participated in the 2014-15 CTY Talent Search.
As one of John Hopkins’ Brightest in the World awardees, Rohman qualified to attend a CTY residential summer program, online classes and several family programs. Rohman, who is a member of his school’s National Junior Honor Society and Science Olympiad Team, said he was honored to be named.
