A Summer Of Strings For Port Jefferson Students
The sounds of string and woodwind instruments have filled the air at Edna Louise Spear Elementary School.

Dozens of students are keeping up with their musical skills by taking part in the annual Summer Music Camp at Port Jefferson.
The sounds of string and woodwind instruments have filled the air at Edna Louise Spear Elementary School as students worked along with music teachers Mark Abbonizio and Christian Neubert. The camp is an opportunity for students to foster an appreciation of music with beginner lessons as well as programs to prepare for New York State School Music Association solo performances during the academic year.
“Not only is this an enjoyable and educational experience for students, it encourages a year-round exploration of their musical talents,” said Dr. Michael Caravello, district director of music and fine arts.
