The Dish: Sweet Rules Snacking at New Crêpe and Rice Pudding Bar
Sweet n' Savory is a new arrival in Port Jefferson Village's Chandler Square.
Sweet n' Savory, a crêpe and rice pudding bar, opened late in 2012 to replace upscale sandwich shop Eat Piada in downtown Port Jefferson. As its name suggests, you can try something sweet, you can order something savory, or try both. This time around, however, Patch tried sweet.
The Dish: "Share" portion featuring two flavors of rice pudding ($8.50)
What's Inside: You can order one flavor to share between two people – hence the name "share" – or, if you can't make up your mind, order two flavors and keep it to yourself. We tried "forbidden apple" and "vanilla cinnamon raisin" topped with whipped cream.

Eat This Because: "Forbidden apple" features tart apple chunks to go with the sweet rice pudding, and "vanilla cinnamon raisin" is a delightful combination. They're only two of the dozens of rotating flavors, which are featured 14 at a time.
Side Dish: Top your rice pudding – worth the extra $1 – with things like graham crackers, toasted coconut, caramel sauce, espresso chips and more. And stay tuned for a future edition of The Dish in which Patch will venture toward the savory side by ordering a crêpe.
