Theatre Three Premiers Tony Award-winning Rock Musical
Next to Normal, an emotional family drama, recently enjoyed great success on Broadway.

Directed by Jeffrey Sanzel (Port Jefferson’s ), the Tony award and Pulitzer prize-winning musical Next to Normal about a family struggling with a mother’s bipolar disorder and haunted by its past premiered for the first time on Long Island on May 19 at .
The play, written by Brian Yorkey with music by Tom Kitt, enjoyed success first off and then on Broadway receiving rave reviews from critics for its emotional power.
BroadwayWorld.com Long Island said that this production was an “honest and heartbreaking glimpse into a family dealing with many varied emotions.” Newsday reviewed the play and said that Sanzel "pulls no punches, spares no tears."

Steve Ayle stars as both of mother Natalie’s doctors, Dr. Fine and Dr. Madden. Diana, the mother struggling between numbness and her extreme emotions is played by Linda May. Husband Dan, blancing his own issues with his wife’s is portrayed by Steve McCoy. The play also stars Marissa Gurgis as daughter Natalie, Dylan Whelan as son Gabe and Brett Chizever as Henry, the classmate who is courting Natalie.
