Trio, Including 2 Teens, Stabbed Long Island Man, Swiped His iPhone: Police

The attack happened when he showed up to sell an iPhone, Suffolk police say.

CORAM, NY — A man and two teen boys have been arrested after Suffolk police say they stabbed a man and swiped his iPhone in Coram last month.

At around 7:20 p.m. on March 25, a 40-year-old Coram man was meeting someone to sell an iPhone outside of a business on Granny Road, when three people arrived, stole the phone and stabbed him, according to police.

The man was treated at Stony Brook University Hospital, police said.

He told News 12 that he was also kicked, as well as punched in the back of the head.

"I really didn't think I was going to make it," he told the outlet.

Following an investigation, Ali Gundogan, 19, of Shirley, and a 15-year-old boy and a 16-year-old boy, were charged with first-degree robbery and second-degree assault, both felonies, according to police.

The teens' names were not released to protect their identities as minors.

Gundogan pleaded not guilty to the charges and a temporary order of protection was issued at his arraignment on March 26, online court records show.

His bail was set at $100,000, $200,000 insured bond, or $1 million partially secured surety bond, the records show.
