Woman Dies After Being Hit By Bus On Long Island: Police
She died Tuesday night, police say.
PORT JEFFERSON STATION, NY — A woman died after being hit by a bus in Port Jefferson Station Tuesday night, police said.
According to Suffolk County police, the incident took place on Route 25A at 10:05 p.m.
Carrie Sansone, 62, of Port Jefferson Station, attempted to run westbound across the roadway on Route 25A when she was struck by a southbound Suffolk County Transit bus, police said.

Sansone was transported to Stony Brook University Hospital, where she was pronounced dead, police said. The driver of the bus, 51, of Coram, and the only passenger in the bus were not injured; the bus was impounded for a safety check, police said.
