Boy, 12, Struck And Killed By Pickup Truck In Nassau: Police

FLOWER HILL, NY — A 12-year-old boy was struck and killed by Ford pickup truck on Monday night in Flower Hill, police said.

Just after 6:30 p.m., the victim ran across Middle Neck Road outside of the crosswalk near Northern Boulevard, when he was hit the truck driven by an 18-year-old male, police said.

The boy was transported to an area hospital in critical condition and was pronounced dead by hospital staff, police said.

The driver of the vehicle remained at the scene and no charges were filed, police said.

Police are investigating.
