Brittany Barron Blood Drive In Port Washington

The blood drive will honor Brittany Barron, a young girl who died of aplastic anemia while attending Guggenheim Elementary School.

A blood drive in Port Washington will be held next week in memory of Brittany Barron who was a third grader at Guggenheim Elementary School when she died of aplastic anemia, a non-malignant failure of the bone marrow.

Just like many children and adults on Long Island, Brittany required many blood transfusions during her illness. To meet the needs of these patients in need, over 800 pints of blood are needed each day.

To support Aplastic Anemia awareness and to honor Brittany's memory, a blood drive will be held at Landmark on Main Street, located at 232 Main St., on Monday, July 9.
