Burglar Breaks Into Nassau Italian Eatery, Flees On Bike: Cops

ROSLYN HEIGHTS, NY — A Bronx man broke into an Italian restaurant in Roslyn Heights over the weekend and tried to flee on a bicycle with a flat tire, police said.

Police were called around 8 a.m. Sunday for a burglary in progress near Mineola Avenue and Elm Street. The address belonged to Matteo's Trattoria.

A hoodie-wearing suspect fled through a broken glass door and rode off on a bike.

Officers found Talli Kebbeh, 24, of Clinton Avenue, at a Shell Gas station on Roslyn Road, about a half-mile east of the break-in. He was immediately arrested without incident.

Kebbeh was charged with burglary and expected in court Monday in Hempstead.
